Description

A classic, buttery Thanksgiving stuffing filled with fresh herbs, celery, and onions. Crispy on top, tender inside, and packed with holiday flavor; just like Grandma used to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf day-old bread, cubed (about 10 cups)

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup diced celery

  • 1 cup diced onion

  • 2 ½ cups chicken or turkey broth

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tsp sage

  • 1 tsp thyme

  • ½ tsp rosemary

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Toast cubed bread for 10–15 minutes until slightly crisp.

  • Sauté onion and celery in butter until tender.

  • In a large bowl, combine bread, sautéed vegetables, herbs, and broth. Add eggs and toss gently.

  • Transfer to a greased baking dish. Bake covered for 25 minutes, then uncovered for 20 minutes until golden.

Notes

Use cornbread for a Southern-style twist.

Substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.

Double the recipe for larger gatherings.
