Description

This Classic Yule Log features a tender chocolate sponge rolled with a creamy filling and dusted with powdered sugar. A festive, elegant Christmas dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 package cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  • Preheat oven and prepare jelly roll pan.

  • Make sponge batter and bake.

  • Roll warm cake in parchment.

  • Prepare cream cheese filling.

  • Unroll cake, spread filling, and reroll.

  • Dust with powdered sugar and chill.

Roll cake while warm to avoid cracks. Chill before slicing.
