Description

Crisp, airy, and hauntingly cute, these Meringue Ghosts are the ultimate Halloween treat. Easy to make with just a few ingredients, they’re perfect for parties and festive snack tables.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large egg whites (room temperature)

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • Melted chocolate or edible gel for decorating


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 225°F (110°C). Line trays with parchment paper.

  • Whip egg whites until foamy, add cream of tartar.

  • Gradually add sugar and whip until glossy stiff peaks form. Add vanilla.

  • Pipe ghost shapes onto trays.

  • Bake for 1.5 hours until dry. Turn off oven, leave to cool inside with door ajar.

  • Add chocolate eyes and mouths. Let set before serving.

Notes

Ensure all tools are grease-free.

Use superfine sugar for best results.

Store in airtight container up to 5 days.
