Description
A gothic-inspired Halloween Soup with a blood-red base (tomato, pumpkin, carrot, or beet) and a cobweb swirl of cream. Perfect for spooky dinners and Halloween themed food.
Ingredients

2 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

4 cups chopped base vegetable (tomatoes, pumpkin, carrots, or beets)

3 cups vegetable broth (or chicken broth)

1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup heavy cream or coconut cream

Optional: black sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions

Heat oil in a pot, sautรฉ onion and garlic.

Add base vegetable and cook until softened.

Pour in broth, add herbs, simmer 20โ30 minutes.

Remove herbs, blend soup until smooth.

Return to pot, season with salt and pepper.

Ladle into bowls, swirl cream in circles, drag a toothpick to form cobweb.

Garnish with black sesame seeds.
Notes
For vegan soup, use coconut cream.
Roasting vegetables beforehand deepens flavor.
Spice it up with chili flakes or smoked paprika.
