Description

Dump and Go Crockpot Teriyaki Chicken is a simple slow cooker recipe made by adding everything to the crockpot and letting it cook to tender perfection. This easy dinner is perfect for busy nights, meal prep, and healthy family meals.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken breast or chicken thighs

  • 1 cup low sodium soy sauce

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

  • Green onions, chopped

  • Sesame seeds

  • Cooked rice or vegetables for serving


Instructions

  • Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot.

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, water, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, brown sugar or honey, and sesame oil.

  • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.

  • Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or high for 2 to 3 hours.

  • Remove the chicken and shred or slice.

  • Stir cornstarch slurry into the crockpot to thicken the sauce.

  • Return chicken to the slow cooker and coat with the sauce.

  • Top with green onions and sesame seeds.

  • Serve over rice or vegetables.

Notes

Use thighs for juicier meat.

Add pineapple for a fruity twist.

Replace sugar with maple syrup for clean eating.

Store leftovers for meal prep up to 4 days.
